One of the most common questions we get in the Force Support Squadron is, "How does all that money stuff work?" Well, let me tell you - it's not as complicated as it may seem. See, the 48th FSS is like a business ... kind of. Actually, we're more like a non-profit organization than anything. That means our business operations (like the golf course, bowling center, arts and crafts, Autohobby etc.) sustain themselves through their earnings and rely on customers like you to keep their doors open.

Any profit we generate is returned to our base's Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Fund for reinvestment. So, every dollar we make, regardless of where we make it, goes right back toward improving our programs and activities ... and your quality of life!

The money 48th FSS receives, allows us to invest in great initiatives improving operations and community programs.

Some examples of these contributions include the new high-definition televisions in the Bistro and Casino Bar, new sporting equipment and bouncy castles at Outdoor Rec, and all of the fun activities hosted by our Community Centers. We also give back with Breakfast-to-go for parents, harvest meals at the CDC, and that's just scratching the surface.

FSS also pays for all of our big base festivities. So, an event like the 2022 Liberty Festival Independence Day celebration was made available through your direct support of our squadron's business activities.

...AND Parent and Child rooms at the RAF Lakenheath Fitness Center! When you spend with FSS you are also providing continued access to the FREE Fitness Classes.

Your patronage is what makes our free safety checks possible! Love to DIY? Using Auto Hobby for any service or even renting a pay contributes to maintaining tools and stock!

Money generated by our facilities help to fund projects like R4R which allows "Big A" Airmen and deployed affected families to book Arts & Crafts or Wood Shop classes at a discounted rate!

The money you spend with FSS helps to bring great features at the facilities we all love - like New TV's at the Bistro & Casino! Don't forget about the FREE special event nights at the Liberty Club: Latin Night, Country Night, and Karaoke Saturdays!
