Requirements include being 18 years of age or older, the ability to speak, read and write English and being a dependent of a military member or GS employee residing in government housing. FCC provider licensing requirements also include a 40-hour orientation training, CPR, First Aid and Food Handler’s Certification. You must also complete 15 training modules in 15 months. This training covers program management, safety, health, communication and other topics related to early childhood development and education.
In accordance with AFI 34-144, any individuals caring for other families’ children for a total of more than 10 hours per week on a regular basis, must be licensed to provide care in government owned quarters or privatized housing. Failure to comply with AFI 34-144, could result in the loss of privileges to reside in government owned quarters for privatized housing. Your Family Child Care (FCC) program provides experienced, licensed and inspected care of children in government housing. Our FCC providers offer developmentally appropriate care for children ranging in age from 2 weeks to 12 years in full-time, part-time, hourly, evening, weekend, swing shift and extended basis.
